This was too good not to post. Apparently somewhere out west, the American Humanist Association had a billboard put up in the name of enlightened rationalism. The tagline was "THINK before you believe". But there was this big, irresistible void in the bottom left of the layout ... and some local Christian students just couldn't resist. So they printed and pasted the banner you see in the picture. Now, I'm not saying I endorse vandalism, but if my boys did something like this, I'd be very, very proud.

Sporadic Mycophilia: Something to Passover
Here's me next to what I believe is one of the deadliest mushrooms in America: a huge Destroying Angel. The boys and I spotted this one while driving down an old country road. Smooth, stark-white cap w/ fine white, non-attached gills, long stem skirt rising from a bulb at the stipe base; white spore print; no bruising or discoloration when cut/split [I checked the pieces in the trashcan from yesterday and they're all still eerily, pale white.]. It is said to make a delicious last meal. Implications for our hamartiology?

Lex Canteti ...
"The early church argued lex orendi, lex credendi: the law of your prayer is the law of your belief. I would argue the law of your singing is the law of your belief."
